The central project unveiled is the Agbura–Oxbow Lake Road. The road has been completed and is expected to serve residents in Agbura and surrounding Ogbia communities. It also provides improved access routes to Nembe and nearby commercial hubs.
According to the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Moses Teibowei, the road was temporarily closed ahead of commissioning. The closure ran from 6:00 a.m. on April 18 to April 20, 2026. Authorities said the measure allowed for final preparations and clean-up activities.
Teibowei stated, “The road is scheduled to be commissioned on Monday, April 20, 2026.” He also advised motorists to use alternative routes during the period. The event drew participation from stakeholders and residents across the state.
The Bayelsa chapter of the All Progressives Congress welcomed Osinbajo’s visit. The party described the projects as evidence of ongoing development efforts. It encouraged residents to attend and support the initiative.
