President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, praising his years of service and contributions to Nigeria.

President Tinubu described Shettima as a trusted ally, valued colleague and patriot whose public life has been shaped by commitment, service and sacrifice.

In a birthday message personally signed by the President, Tinubu congratulated the Vice President and his family on the milestone.

“Today, I warmly congratulate Vice President Kashim Shettima, my brother and partner in steering the ship of our state, on his 60th birthday,” Tinubu said.

The President also extended his congratulations to Shettima’s wife, Nana, his children, family members and political associates.

Tinubu noted that Shettima’s career had spanned banking and several important public offices.

He particularly highlighted his tenure as Governor of Borno State and his current role as Vice President.

According to Tinubu, Shettima has displayed “courage, diligence, compassion and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of the people” throughout his career.

The President also commended his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and his support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Tinubu praised Shettima’s work as Chairman of the National Economic Council, saying he had provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policies.

He added that the Vice President had helped strengthen cooperation between the Federal Government and sub-national governments.

The President further credited Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation with supporting good governance.

“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said.

He thanked Shettima for his “steadfast support and partnership” and expressed confidence that both leaders would continue working toward national development.

Tinubu prayed for divine guidance, protection, wisdom and good health for the Vice President, alongside many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.

The First Lady also joined the celebrations, describing Shettima’s 60th birthday as a significant milestone.

Oluremi Tinubu joined Shettima’s wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, family and friends in celebrating the occasion.

“On this occasion of your Diamond Jubilee, I join your wife, Her Excellency Hajia Nana Shettima, family and friends in celebrating you,” she said.

She praised the Vice President for demonstrating “strength, loyalty, commitment and love for country” in office.

The First Lady also acknowledged Shettima’s previous positions as governor, senator and banker, describing his career as one marked by notable achievements.
