Woman’s Mutilated Corpse Found in Jos Forest Reserve

The mutilated corpse of a woman has been discovered near a stream inside the Wildlife Park Forest Reserve in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The discovery was reported at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday after security operatives were alerted to the incident.

According to security sources, the Jos forest corpse was discovered after the woman’s family began searching for her when she failed to return home.

Her body was subsequently found near a stream within the forest reserve.

The deceased was reportedly found with injuries believed to be consistent with machete cuts on her arm and face.

A staff member of the park, who spoke anonymously because he was not authorised to comment, said workers discovered the body before notifying security personnel.

“We woke up and discovered the body and immediately contacted the security operatives,” he said.

According to the staff member, security personnel arrived at the scene and began an initial assessment.

“The security personnel came to the scene and commenced their initial assessment while efforts were made to establish what happened,” he added.

Security authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

The investigation is expected to establish how the woman died and determine whether criminal elements were involved.

The Jos forest corpse discovery has raised concerns over what occurred inside the forest reserve before the woman’s body was found.

However, there was no official confirmation of the circumstances surrounding the death as of the time of filing the report.

Efforts to obtain confirmation from the security operatives were unsuccessful.
