Tinubu Meets Lawmakers, Governors and Business Leader in Aso Villa, Agenda Not Disclosed

President Bola Tinubu met on Friday in Aso Villa with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tanudeen Abbas, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and other political and business leaders, a presidential source confirmed.

Closed-door meetings between the president and senior government officials, governors and private sector executives are part of the Federal Government’s engagements at the seat of power.

Such interactions often involve discussions on national governance, security coordination and economic priorities, though official details are sometimes not released.

The gathering took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja following a high-profile incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport involving former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, which has been widely reported in media, but the presidency did not link that incident to the meeting’s agenda.

According to Vanguard, those in attendance included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tanudeen Abbas; the governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani; the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq; and the governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.

The president also met with Chidi Ajaere, the Chief Executive Officer of God Is Good Motors. After the meeting, the Kwara State governor left the Villa accompanied by the National Security Adviser, while the Benue State governor departed without speaking to journalists.

Officials of the presidency did not provide public statements on the agenda or outcome of the discussions as of press time.

The meeting brought together senior branches of government and a prominent private sector leader, reflecting continued engagement among political and economic stakeholders at the Federal level.

The inclusion of governors from different regions and the Speaker suggests intergovernmental coordination at the executive and legislative levels.

Public interest in the meeting’s timing coincided with coverage of security-related events involving a former governor, although no official connection between those events and the meeting was disclosed.
