LASG Warns Illegal Parking Operators in Computer Village

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has issued a warning to illegal parking operators in Computer Village, Ikeja, over activities that disrupt traffic flow and public safety in the area, the state government said in a statement on Thursday.

Computer Village is a major commercial district in Ikeja, Lagos State, known for its concentration of electronics markets, small businesses and high customer footfall.

Traffic congestion and informal parking activities have long been challenges in high‑density market areas across Lagos.

The Lagos State Government regularly enforces traffic management rules and urban regulations to maintain order in business districts and ease movement for motorists, traders and pedestrians.

In a statement, the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation said illegal parking operators in Computer Village were creating serious traffic bottlenecks and causing inconvenience to road users.

The ministry described the activities as unlawful and detrimental to the free flow of traffic.

The statement also said that enforcement agencies would take action against individuals or groups engaged in unauthorised parking operations that obstruct free movement or violate state traffic laws.

The ministry urged motorists and commuters to report unlawful parking activities to the appropriate authorities to support enforcement efforts.

The government also reiterated that proper traffic management and adherence to authorised parking regulations are essential for maintaining safety and efficiency on the roads in busy commercial areas.

The warning underscores efforts by the Lagos State Government to manage urban traffic and reduce congestion in commercial districts.

Illegal parking operations in busy market areas can cause gridlock, increase travel times and disrupt public transport services.

For traders, customers and commuters in Computer Village, enforcement of parking regulations is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce delays during peak business hours.
