PDP to APC: Stop Theatrics, Deliver Real Governance in Lagos

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to focus on governance and service delivery rather than what it described as political theatrics.

The statement comes amid ongoing political exchanges between opposition and ruling parties in Lagos State. As Nigeria’s commercial hub, Lagos remains a focal point for governance, infrastructure and public service delivery.

Political parties in the state have continued to engage in public discourse over performance, policies and leadership approaches, particularly in relation to urban development and economic management.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, the Lagos PDP criticised the APC-led administration, urging it to concentrate on addressing key governance issues affecting residents.

The party stated that governance should prioritise tangible improvements in infrastructure, security and public services rather than political activities it described as distractions.

The PDP also emphasised the need for accountability and responsiveness to the needs of Lagos residents, calling on the government to address concerns affecting daily living conditions.

In response, the APC dismissed the claims, stating that the Lagos State Government remains committed to delivering projects and policies aimed at improving the lives of residents.

The ruling party maintained that its administration continues to implement development initiatives across sectors in the state.

The exchange reflects ongoing political competition in Lagos, where governance performance remains a central issue in public discourse.

Statements from both parties highlight the importance of accountability and service delivery in urban governance, particularly in a state with high population density and economic activity.

Public debates between political parties can influence citizen engagement and expectations regarding governance outcomes.
