President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of Tinubu appointments, naming former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as the new Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) alongside 25 other appointments across key federal agencies and commissions. The appointments were announced in a statement issued in Abuja by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed that all appointments take immediate effect.
According to the statement, Fayose will chair the REA Board, with Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta serving as members and non-executive directors. The board will also include the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, alongside its three previously appointed executive directors.
Among the other Tinubu appointments, Major General Junaid Bindawa was named Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, while former House of Representatives member Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas was appointed Secretary of the commission.
The President also appointed Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun, and Yakubu Umar Barde as commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states respectively. Additional members of the commission include Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
In another development, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who had earlier been appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), was reassigned as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
President Tinubu also appointed Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), while Dr. Akinola Odeyemi was named Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET).
Similarly, Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, while Engineer Julius Oloro emerged as the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State, succeeding the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.
The President further approved the constitution of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission Board, appointing Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members of the commission are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Also included in the latest Tinubu appointments, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was named Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was previously redeployed to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan, former Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), President Tinubu appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar and current Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC). The latest appointments form part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across strategic public institutions and agencies responsible for national development.
