The Osun campaign council has been expanded after Governor Ademola Adeleke approved the reconstitution of the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) to accommodate prominent former members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who recently joined the Accord Party ahead of the August 15 governorship election. The development was announced in a statement issued by the Media and Publicity Committee of the Imole Campaign Council and signed by its Chairman, Rep. Bamidele Salam.
According to the statement, the restructuring of the Osun campaign council is intended to integrate the new entrants into the party’s election structure and assign them active responsibilities throughout the campaign.
Those appointed into the council’s apex body include: Hon. Folorunsho Bamisayemi, Hon. Ismaila Kolawole, Dr. Tunde Alarape, Hon. Tona Famadewa, Barr. Sunday Ojo Williams, Barr. Ayo Afilaka, Hon. Lekan Oyediran, Hon. Aleem Bakare, Alhaji Mutiu Omotayo, Hon. Semiu Afolabi, Hon. Taiwo Akeju
The statement added that several other party leaders were also assigned to strategic committees within the campaign structure.
Among the appointments, Alhaji Jamiu Olawumi was named Director of Strategic Communications, while Dr. Desmond Ojumu joined the Medical Committee. Hon. Ayila Ayinde, Hon. Adesakin and Hon. Azeez Musbau were appointed to the Contact and Mobilisation Committee.
Hon. Lateef Awogbade was assigned to the Reconciliation Committee, while Hon. Ojuade Bukola became a member of the Research, Planning and Strategy Committee. Other appointments include Hon. Okiki to the Inter-Party Relations Committee and Hon. Adesiji Adefarakan to the Electoral Matters Committee.
As part of efforts to strengthen the Osun campaign council, the campaign organisation also established an Election Surveillance and Voter Education Committee to boost voter mobilisation and monitor election activities ahead of the governorship poll.
The committee will be chaired by former Commissioner for Youth, Hon. Yemi Lawal. Its members include Hon. Oyewole Rafiu Abayomi, Hon. Olawuni Felix Olugbenga, Hon. Adeyeye, Hon. Amos Akindiya, Hon. Jelili Danku, Barr. Akintayo Jimoh, Hon. Oyelakin and Hon. Ajibola Dada.
Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi, congratulated the newly appointed members and expressed confidence that their experience and contributions would strengthen the Osun campaign council as preparations intensify for the August 15 governorship election.
