The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has opened its online accreditation portal for civil servants participating in the 2026 promotion exercise. The exercise covers officers on Salary Grade Levels 14, 15 and 16. The Commission announced the development in a statement issued on Thursday by its Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Ibraheem Zakariyya.
According to the statement, eligible officers are required to complete their accreditation between August 14 and August 28, 2026 through the designated promotion portal. The exercise is part of measures by the Commission to make the promotion process more transparent, organised and efficient.
The FCSC said affected officers would receive their login credentials through the email addresses registered for the exercise. It therefore advised candidates to monitor their registered email accounts and complete the accreditation process within the approved window.
The Commission warned that the accreditation portal would close on August 28 and that officers would not be given additional time to complete the process. Those who fail to undergo accreditation before the deadline, it said, would have to wait until 2027 to present themselves for the exercise. The Commission consequently urged eligible officers not to postpone the process until the final day.
It said completing the accreditation early would give candidates enough time to address any technical or administrative difficulties that might arise. The FCSC also directed Permanent Secretaries, Accounting Officers and Chief Executive Officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure that every eligible officer receives information about the exercise.
The directive covers officers working both within and outside their official headquarters, as well as those currently on foreign assignments. The Commission said the cooperation of the affected officers and government institutions would be important to the smooth conduct of the 2026 promotion exercise.
