National Security Crisis: El-Buba Tells Tinubu to Rescue Kidnapped Children or Step Down

National security crisis concerns took centre stage in Jos as the Founder of Evangelical Biblical Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), Prophet Isa El-Buba, called on President Bola Tinubu to intensify efforts against insecurity and place the protection of Nigerians above politics and elections.

El-Buba made the remarks during activities marking the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Black Sunday observance. The programme formed part of a three-day national mourning and prayer initiative organised in response to worsening insecurity and continued attacks on communities across the country.

Addressing worshippers and participants, the cleric said Nigeria was facing a defining moment in its history. He lamented the growing fear among families affected by kidnappings, terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes.

Speaking directly to President Tinubu, El-Buba stressed that responsibility for addressing the national security crisis ultimately rests with the office of the Commander-in-Chief.

“This country that you are leading, everything stops at your desk. If you will not get our children out of the forest, resign from your position. Nigerians entrusted you with leadership, and you must lead Nigeria right,” he said.

The religious leader described the current security situation as unacceptable, noting that many innocent citizens had lost their lives while numerous communities had been displaced by violence.

“Our nation today stands at a critical moment in history. Across many parts of this country, families live in fear of kidnappers, terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements,” he stated.

“Too many innocent lives have been lost, and too many communities have been displaced. The bloodshed must stop. Every life matters. Every citizen deserves protection, every community deserves peace.”

El-Buba argued that resolving the national security crisis should take precedence over political calculations and preparations for future elections.

“What Nigeria needs most now is security. Before politics, before elections and before personal interests, we must secure the lives of Nigerians. No security, no election,” he declared.

Beyond insecurity, he pointed to corruption, greed, injustice, dishonesty, and abuse of power as deeper challenges undermining the country’s stability. According to him, meaningful progress would require not only political solutions but also moral and ethical renewal.

Addressing the church, El-Buba urged religious institutions to speak out against injustice and become active voices for national transformation.

“To the church in Nigeria, this is not a time for silence, complacency or compromise. The church must recover its prophetic voice and become the conscience of the nation.”

He added that the message extended beyond Christians, calling on Muslims and Nigerians of all backgrounds to work toward a peaceful and united country.

The cleric also encouraged young Nigerians to remain hopeful despite prevailing challenges. He praised youth involvement in peaceful civic engagement and urged them to channel their energy into nation-building rather than violence.

“Nigeria still needs your energy, your creativity, your innovation and your patriotism. Refuse to become instruments of violence and division. Become builders of a better future,” he said.

Concluding his address, El-Buba called on citizens to remain vigilant, demand accountability from leaders, and pursue justice and peace through lawful means.

“We will not keep silent and we will not keep quiet until our nation is recovered. Let us reject hatred, reject violence and embrace justice, peace and national renewal.”
