JAMB Releases UTME Mop-Up Results, Begins Admission Ranking Process

Candidates who participated in the 2026 mop-up examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board can now access their scores as the board officially released the UTME mop-up results and moved to the next phase of the admission process.

The announcement was made by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, who confirmed that the examination body had concluded the processing of results from the mop-up exercise conducted on June 13, 2026. He advised candidates to check their performance through the board’s approved result-checking platforms.

Following the release of the UTME mop-up results, JAMB said it would immediately commence the ranking of candidates, a key stage in the admission process for tertiary institutions across the country. Benjamin explained that the ranking exercise would pave the way for the printing of admission-related result slips.

“Following the successful conclusion of the mop-up exercise and the release of the results, the board will commence the ranking of candidates,” he said.

“Thereafter, the printing of results for admission purposes is expected to begin before the weekend.”

The mop-up examination was organised to provide another opportunity for candidates who encountered challenges during the main Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

According to JAMB, eligible candidates included those who had successfully completed biometric verification but were unable to sit for the examination due to technical difficulties, biometric verification issues, or disruptions experienced at their designated examination centres. The exercise was aimed at ensuring that affected candidates were not disadvantaged in the admission process.

The 2026 UTME was conducted nationwide between April 16 and April 25, with thousands of candidates participating in the examination for admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions. The release of the UTME mop-up results marks another major step in the 2026 admission cycle, as candidates now await the commencement of institutional admission processes.

With the release of the results, JAMB has shifted attention to candidate ranking and admission documentation. The development clears the way for institutions to begin processing admissions while affected candidates can now verify their performance and prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.
